چکیده
The burden of musculoskeletal disease has increased significantly to become the second leading cause YLD (years life with disability). Osteoarthritis (OA) therapy that is often given ibuprofen (NSAID) give side effects. Therefore, it necessary conduct a literature review explore evidence how much potential these materials have for treating OA. was conducted on four databases, e.g., Pubmed, Scopus, Science direct, Clinical Key. We used several keywords find each topic discussion. Topic 1, benefits glucosamine chondroitine; 2, chitosan; 3, phytoestrogens. Data from included studies were then extracted. Obtained data analyzed using descriptive statistical methods. Glucosamine-chondroitin had significant effect in reducing pain, inflammation, rate joint space narrowing and helping improve function OA patients long-term use. Furthermore, chitosan can help bone remodeling, reduce inflammation. Besides, phytoestrogens also increase mineral density, turnover occurrence obesity through its anti-cholesterol complexity mechanism action given, ranging preventing biggest risk factor, namely obesity; main causes such as inflammation cartilage damage; symptoms pain stiffness. In future, clinical trials study ingredients glucosamine, chondroitin, treat

Methods: Two hundred two patients with knee osteoarthritis (using American College of Rheumatology criteria) were randomized to receive oral glucosamine sulfate, 1500 mg once a day, or placebo. Changes in radiographic minimum joint space width were measured in the medial compartment of the tibiofemoral joint, and symptoms were assessed using the algo-functional indexes of Lequesne and WOMAC (We...
